Graceland Mansion and Grounds
Delight in eight unique rooms in the Graceland Mansion decorated by the King himself. Rooms have been preserved to reflect the days the Presley family lived in the Graceland Mansion.
The Entryway
The presence of the King is felt from the moment you enter the mansion. Elvis’ personality and unique taste is reflected in the magnificent staircase and breathtaking chandelier that hangs from the ceiling in the entryway.
The Living Room and Music Room
As you move into the foyer, the living room and the music room can be found to your right. A 15 foot long, white custom sofa sits in the living room and compliments the gold, blue and white decorations throughout. Musicians will envy the sleek, black baby grand piano displayed in the music room.
The Dining Room
To the left of the foyer is the Kitchen. Once the room where the Presley’s held dinner parties and entertained their guests with poker games, the dining room’s ceiling is an impressive nine feett high. Each year, the main Graceland Christmas tree can be found and admired in the mansion’s dining room. Other significant pieces include a large china cabinet that holds the Presley silver and an exquisite crystal chandelier that hangs from the ceiling.
Kitchen
Follow the hallway to the kitchen where Elvis Presley’s meals were once cooked. The room is decorated with wood paneled cabinets, a kitchen bar and stained glass lights that hang from the ceiling. Opened to the public in 1995, original appliances and dishes used by the king himself complete the kitchen.
Presley’s Grocery List
During his time in the Graceland Mansion, Presley regularly made lists outlining items that should be in the kitchen at all times. Some of the items included: peanut butter, fudge cookies, ingredients for meatloaf and sauce, hamburger buns, pickles, shredded coconut and three packs each of Juicy Fruit, Spearmint and Double Mint gum.
The Jungle Room
From the custom stone waterfall to the green shaggy rugs on both the floors and ceiling, the Jungle Room was one of Elvis’ themed rooms. Look for the red and green phones that sit on the carved wood table used by Presley himself.
The TV Room
Head downstairs to see where the King unwound after a busy days work. The TV room is equipped with a bright yellow bar, several televisions, a jukebox with over 100 singles and a large sofa covered in pillows.
The Pool Room
This unique room’s main feature is the pool table that is situated in the center of the room with a stained glass light that hangs from overhead. Red leather chairs sit throughout the room and unique fabric lines the walls and ceilings.
Vernon Presley’s Office
Venture out of the mansion and into Vernon Presley’s office. Here you can see where Vernon Presley handled all of the business aspects of Elvis’ career.
The Trophy Room
Marvel in the success of the King of Rock ‘N’ Roll. The impressive 80 foot long trophy room displays some the King’s gold and platinum records, costumes, magazines, guitars, movie scripts, belt buckles and many other treasured items that once belonged to Elvis.
The Racquetball Building
Built by Presley in 1975, the 2,200 square foot Racquetball Building was once a popular hangout among the Presley family and their friends. Brown leather furniture, a stereo system and a piano can be found throughout.
The Meditation Garden
Pay your respects to the King in the Meditation Garden where Elvis Presley is buried with his mother, father and grandmother. Curved brick walls surround the garden and stained glass windows, shrubs, flowers and a pond with a fountain complete the garden.
