Experience the Indiana Amish firsthand at Das Dutchman Essenhaus, a pleasant surprise in the heart of Amish country as part of this group bus trip. Located in Middlebury, Indiana, Das Dutchman Essenhaus was founded by Bob and Sue Miller who wanted to create an ideal place to experience the time-honored tradition of sharing a meal together. Since opening in 1971, the Das Dutchman Essenhaus Restaurant has grown into Indiana’s largest with seating for up to 1,100. In addition to its restaurant, Das Dutchman Essenhaus houses an Amish bakery and six unique gift shops and stores.

Dutch Country Gifts

Dutch Country Gifts, Essenhaus Village Shops’ largest store, features the latest and greatest in home accents and trends. As you browse through the two-story shop you will discover an assortment of Willow Tree figurines, a variety of small accent furniture pieces, lamps, clocks and artwork.

The Cabin

Make your house a home with primitive décor including lodge and cozy Northwoods inspired merchandise in the Cabin. Other merchandise in the Cabin includes Badger body care products, Crossroads Candles, games, puzzles and children’s toys. 

The Corn Crib

In the Corn Crib you’ll discover Vera Bradley products, Jim Shore figurines, coastal/lake themed décor, cottage-style furniture and unique gifts. Don’t forget to browse through the Corn Crib’s peaceful specialty themed areas in the shop including Camille Beckman body care products, tech gadgets, artwork and the classic car themed section.

The Clothesline

The Quilt Shop

You can shop for locally-made quilts and supplies to make quilts in the Quilt Shop.  A selection of hand-stitched quilts, wall hangings, fabrics, quilt stencils, books, supplies, and wooden display stands for your favorite quilt are just some of the items available to purchase in the Quilt Shop.
